Affiliate disclosure
How affiliate links work on HouseholdNotes, what we earn from them, and the rules we hold ourselves to when recommending a product.
HouseholdNotes participates in the Amazon Associates Program and other affiliate programs. When you buy something through a link on this site, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra.
What that means in practice#
- Affiliate links are marked. They open in a new tab and carry
rel="sponsored nofollow". - Every affiliate link on this site routes through
/go/…before it reaches the merchant. That is so we can change a broken link in one place instead of editing fifty posts. - Posts containing affiliate links carry a disclosure at the top, above the content.
Our rules#
- We own it. No product appears in a recommendation unless it is in this house.
- Commission does not affect ranking. When a cheaper product is better, the cheaper product is the recommendation.
- No affiliate-only posts. Every post has to be worth reading with the product links stripped out.
If you would rather not use our links, search the product name directly. The advice is the same either way.
